Privacy Policy

The short version

Every calculator on CostCalc runs in your browser. The measurements, prices and dimensions you type are used to render your result and are never transmitted to our servers or stored in a database. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell personal information.

What is collected

Like most websites we use analytics and advertising services that collect standard technical information when a page loads: pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, referring page, browser and device type, and interactions such as which calculator you opened. We also record anonymous tool events — that a calculator was started, completed or that a result was copied — without the values you entered.

We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity for this. Clarity may record anonymised session replays and heat maps of how pages are used; form fields on this site are input-only calculators, and we do not ask for personal details, so nothing sensitive is captured.

Advertising

CostCalc is supported by advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info. Where required by law, a consent message is shown before non-essential cookies are set.

Cookies

Essential cookies, if any, keep the site working. Analytics and advertising cookies are set by our partners for the purposes described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the calculators will keep working, because the maths does not depend on them.

Your choices

• Use a browser with tracking protection, or an ad blocker — the tools work either way.
• Opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
• Email us to ask what is held about you; because we do not run accounts, in most cases the answer is nothing.

Children

This site is intended for adults planning building and renovation work, and is not directed at children under 13.
